2022 Chevy Camaro SS Convertibles Impresses at Festival Event Cars

The 500 Festival Event Cars is a tradition that happens before the beloved Indianapolis 500. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) teamed up this year with Chevrolet and together displayed fifty Chevrolet Camaro SS convertibles on the main straightaway.

The stunning view of identical convertibles continued to turn heads in Central Indiana. The Festival Event Cars are based on the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible. A 6.2-liter small-block V-8 engine powers every Chevrolet convertible, offering 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque.

The Chevrolet Performance Studio design inspired the exclusive decals on the exterior of the SS. The Chevy decals on top of the Wild Cherry exterior coat added depth. These colorful convertibles represented the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 that Gainbridge presented.

The vehicle’s interior was bright Ceramic White, and its 20-inch black-painted aluminum wheels accented the Cherry color exterior. You can lower the power-folding convertible top to 30 mph, and Brembo’s robust front and rear performance breaks are decked out with red calipers. Imagine the stunning sight that the Chevrolet Convertibles were on display.

106th Indy 500 Quick Recap

The winner of the 106th Indianapolis 500 earned his first victory after a late red flag scramble. From Kumla, Sweden, Marcus Ericsson outraced Sage Karam, who crashed in Turn 2 on the final lap. 

The crash ended the race, but before it did, Ericsson and Pato O’Ward went head-to-head for the lead. It was a tight race and mesmerizing to watch. After 2.5- miles, some suggest it was one of the most spectacular races in its history.

O’Ward came in second in the No. 5 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet finish in three starts, his most satisfying career “500” finish. This year’s Indianapolis 500, now known as “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing”; due to its rough start and crash ending.
