General Motors is investing in electric vehicle development at a breakneck pace, and it’s planning several new models over the next few years across nearly every major industry segment. Its first electric pickup, the Silverado EV, is coming in early 2024, bringing remarkable range, capability, and performance. Riding on GM’s Ultium EV Platform, the Silverado EV will offer up to 10,000 pounds of towing and 1,300 pounds of payload capability, and some configurations have a range estimate that reaches 450 miles on a charge.
Chevrolet will offer the Silverado EV in two trims to start: WT (Work Truck) and RST. The WT trim features more basic accommodations focusing on capability and toughness, while the RST brings more luxury and performance to the table. Chevrolet has noted that additional trims will be available in the future, including an off-road-oriented Trail Boss model. Still, it has not detailed the full Silverado EV lineup at this time.
Pricing for the Silverado EV line starts above $50,000 and extends to more than $100,000 for top configurations. Remember that the early trims are often the most expensive, so later additions will likely come with a lower price tag.
The 2024 Silverado EV will be available in two main trims at launch.
