Performance
A 2.7-liter, turbocharged inline-4 engine producing 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, powers all 2024 Canyons. The engine is connected to a Hydromatic 8-speed automatic transmission. On the standard Elevation trim, the power will be sent to the rear wheels. This is the most fuel-efficient Canyon model with an EPA-estimated mpg of 18 city and 23 highway and 20 combined. 4-wheel drive is available on the Elevation and standard on all other Canyon models. 4WD drops by one mpg to 17 / 22 / 19.
Ground clearance starts at 9.6 inches for the Elevation, AT4, and Denal. It bumps up to 10.7 inches for the AT4X and rises to 12.2 inches for the AT4X AEV Edition. The maximum payload is 1,640 pounds, and the maximum towing capacity is 7,700 pounds on all but the AT4X models, which drop to 6,000 pounds.
All models above the Elevation include at least four drive modes for general and specialized driving scenarios, including:
- Normal Mode: for balanced everyday on-road driving
- Tow/Haul Mode: for optimized hauling of heavy loads and towing
- Terrain Mode: for low-speed precision off-roading and rock crawling
- Off-Road Mode: for general off-road dynamics
- Baja Mode: for high-speed off-road driving (exclusive to AT4X models)
The AT4X models are available with up to 10 camera views, including front and rear underbody cameras that can let you be your own spotter when the terrain gets rough.
Exterior
The exterior features start with a large rectangular grille flanked at the top by narrow LED daytime running lights with LED projector headlamps nestled in the corners below. Raised wheel arches allow plenty of wheel travel and add muscularity to the side. All models feature deep-tinted glass for the back and rear door glass, cargo area lamps, and a corner step in the rear bumper for better access to the cargo bed. Wheel size ranges from 17 to 20 inches, depending on trim.
Interior
The dash has a refined and sophisticated horizontal design that looks rich on the Elevation and gets richer with each step up the trim level hierarchy. Available features include an 8-way power adjustment for the driver with memory and a 6-way power adjustment for the front passenger. Heated and ventilated front seats, a 7-speaker Bose® Premium audio system with an external amplifier, remote Express-Down for all windows, dual-zone climate control, and HD Surround Vision, just to name a few.
Technology
All trim levels come standard with the 11.3-inch diagonal touchscreen infotainment system powered by the Google Built-in operating system, which also includes wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoTM capability. Available is a configurable 11-inch digital gauge cluster and even a 6.3-inch head-up display, which is rare for the segment.
