All-New 2024 GMC Acadia Revealed at Detroit Auto Show
GMC used the occasion of the September Detroit Auto Show to unveil its completely redesigned 2024 Acadia. The new model is more prominent in every dimension and has a new high-tech interior, crowned by AT4 and Denali models featuring available SuperCruise. Let Dieffenbach GM fill you in on some of the highlights.
More Space in Every Direction
The 2024 Acadia has grown in all dimensions compared to the previous model. It is a little wider, 10.6 inches longer, and 3.2 inches taller than the previous generation. The cabin is far more spacious for the seven or eight occupants, depending on the model. Cargo carrying ability has expanded with 80% more space behind the third-row seats and 36% behind the 2nd row.
“For this next generation, our mission was to reimagine the design and the proportions of the Acadia to create a bolder, more commanding presence, firmly in the vein of the evolving GMC portfolio,” said Ben Zavala, design lead, GMC Acadia. “With its assertive, powerful stance, the 2024 Acadia evokes a truck-inspired persona, infused with the brand’s signature premium feel.”
Every Acadia will be powered by a new turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4, producing 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft. of torque. Controlling the power is an 8-speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain delivers both more power and more towing capability. When properly equipped, the new Acadia has a towing capacity rating of up to 5,000 pounds.
Inside, the Acadia has an all-new dash design built around a standard 15-inch premium GMC infotainment touchscreen that is standard across the model line. The system features Google Built-in compatibility for several Google apps, including Google Maps. Also standard is an 11-inch digital driver information center.
For the utmost in visibility, up to nine different camera views are available to show everything around the vehicle. In addition, the new Acadia will include an expansive list of standard advanced safety features and driver assistance technologies, including:

Nor will Super Cruise only be available on the range-topping Denali as it will also be available on Elevation, Premium, and AT4 trims. In addition to Hands-free highway cruising, Super Cruise features trailering assist and automatic lane-change capabilities.
Acadia AT4 Is More Rugged Than Ever
The off-road-focused AT4 now has a one-inch taller and wider track, improving both clearance and stability. The suspension features hydraulic rebound control, and the AT4 Active Torque Control all-wheel-drive system features twin-clutch rear differentials for optimal traction and control in demanding scenarios.
Terrain-specific drive modes let the driver harness the abilities of the traction control and ABS systems to control wheel action in specific off-road conditions. Hill Descent Control does just what it sounds, helping maintain a slow, controlled speed down steep inclines.
Denali is more Luxurious Than Ever
The Denali name returns to the Acadia to solidify its premium SUV status with features like one-touch folding second-row seats and power-folding third-row. You will hear every nuance in your music with a 16-speaker Bose Premium audio system coupled with Bose’ famous Active noise-canceling technology. The Denali rides on new 22-inch machined aluminum wheels, while the interior is graced with authentic laser-etched wood décor with Galvano chrome accents, perforated leather-appointed heated and ventilated front seats, and available second-row outboard heated seats.
