The year 2020 will be remembered for many things. Even in the face of the pandemic, some good came out of a very challenging year.

All motorsport series had to readjust their schedules, even race with no fans in the stands. Juts the pit crews and support staff. The races went on and championships were won.
Despite shortened and adjusted schedules, Chevrolet took home 12 championships in 2020.

Chevrolet won the NASCAR Cup Series with Chase Elliott behind the wheel of his Camaro ZL1. They also took home their 22nd NASCAR Xfinity Series Manufacturer title winning 10 out of 33 races. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Sheldon Creed won the driver’s title with Chevrolet winning its 10th Manufacturer title.

They also won the GTLM class in IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the Corvette C8.R. It is the 13th time that Chevrolet won the manufacturer’s title in its class.

The NTT IndyCar series saw several triumphs powered by Chevrolet engines. This included Rinus VeeKay, who won the series Rookie of The Year – the third such award and the first since 1992.

Drag racing saw Chevrolet dominate the field. In the NHRA, Pro Stock driver Erica Enders made history in her Camaro SS, becoming the first woman driver to win her class championship for the fourth time. A COPO Camaro took the Factory Stock Showdown championship. Meanwhile, Chevrolet won its 25th Manufacturer’s Cup – more than anyone in the NHRA.

While they dominated on the track and on the drag strip, Chevrolet also took titles in the Best In The Desert series with class wins for the Colorado ZR2 and Silverado 1500.

These accomplishments made up for the dark mood of the world. It gave Chevrolet and our fans many bright moments to celebrate. With the Best In the Desert, IMSA, and NASCAR seasons already underway, IndyCar will start soon. Chevrolet Motorsports is ready!

Chevrolet does not race for the fun of it – and for the trophies. What they learn on the track, on the drag strip, and in the desert are engineered in your Chevrolet. Winning is just one result of what Chevrolet does. The ultimate result is your ownership in a vehicle born from competition.
