Chevrolet Ranks in Top Made in America Vehicle List for 2022

Every year, the Kogod School of Business releases a Made in America Auto Index to acknowledge the best vehicles made right here in the United States. The top ten list for this year saw Chevrolet coming in near the top, with two vehicles ranking within the top five. Which Chevrolet Vehicles Made the List?

The Kogod list is compiled by using public data released by the Center for Automotive Research. It takes seven categories into account:

  • Profit Margin
  • Labor
  • Research and Development
  • Inventory, Capital, and Other Expenses
  • Engine
  • Transmission
  • Body, Chassis, and Electrical Components

Using each criteria point’s location to assign it a point level from 0-14, the group determines who comes out on top with the highest ranking going to companies with U.S.-based operations. So, it comes as no surprise that Chevrolet ranked high. As a subdivision of General Motors, the American auto company has a focus on American-made vehicles for American drivers.

Ranking at #3 is the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, a mainstay in the sportscar world. Produced in Kentucky, the Stingray uses domestically-sourced components and labor to produce one of the most iconic American sportscars still on the market. This year’s 70th Anniversary Edition goes to show that American-made means made to last, and it continues to win awards for quality and craftsmanship after all these years.

The second Chevrolet to make the list is the Colorado at #4. This truck comes out at the top of its class in several categories like camera angles and tie-downs, receiving the best-in-class distinction for its 7,700lb towing capacity. The Colorado is rugged yet refined, suited for work, adventuring, and urban exploring equally. It handles off-road driving without leaving behind technology, including all the latest in connectivity, navigation, and entertainment.
