The Suburban is for Unlimited Road Trips
There are big families and big family activities. Separate or combined, they can involve many people and cargo. Activities of the floating, live-in, or motorsports kind can also involve towing. You would be hard-pressed to find any vehicle better suited for this than a Chevrolet Suburban, particularly with the available Duramax 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine. For that, Dieffenbach GM Superstore has you covered.
Rockingham may be nearly equidistant from Charlotte and Fayetteville. However, it is still surrounded by plenty of miles of wide open spaces, and nothing eats up miles like a diesel-powered Suburban. The model can carry seven to nine people and has room for 41.5 cubic feet of cargo, even with every seat occupied. With 60/40 split second- and third-row seats, you can maximize the cargo space with any number of passengers until you wind up with a two-seater with a 144.7 cubic foot warehouse.
If you prefer to carry your load behind you, the Suburban can tow up to 8,300 pounds and features several towing-specific technologies and an available Four-Corner Adaptive Air Ride Suspension. The diesel is probably your best bet for towing, as its 460 lb-ft of torque enables it to pull that weight up and down mountains with confidence. Unhitched, it can eat up highway miles at an EPA-rated 27 miles per gallon, which is pretty impressive.
Few things are more satisfying than heading down the highway in a Suburban loaded with people and things. It feels like a locomotive with a single club car and like nothing will phase it. Though it feels unstoppable on the highway, the Suburban is, in fact, quite stoppable when you need it to be. A 2021 Car and Driver test of the current design of Suburban High Country was able to come from 70 to full-stop in 166 feet, a shorter distance than many smaller vehicles. They cited the compact Mazda 3 as an example.
The Suburban can range from a comfortable LS that starts at $61,195 for a 2WD model with the 5.3-liter V8 to an absolutely posh High Country model with 4WD and the Duramax engine as standard for $83,395, with four trim levels in between. If the High Country model with its vast quantities of leather inside, Bose® 10-speaker Surround with CenterPoint® audio system, 12-way power heated and ventilated front seats, head-up display, available Super Cruise, and an endless amount of other creature comforts seems like it is heading into Cadillac Escalade territory, we have a whole other blog post about that.
If you travel plenty and take plenty with you, the Suburban is for you. See for yourself at the Dieffenbach GM Superstore in Rockingham, NC.
